I know that
not a lot of
players
turned out
for the
event at
Chickenhawk,
not sure
why, it was
only 110 in
the shade,
just kidding
Billy. We
still had
fun, it was
the first
game in a
long time
that I could
id everyone
on the other
team without
looking for
armtape. I
got to be
the General
for the
Porkie Army
and had a
great time.
The field
has a lot of
great
potential,
plenty of
pre-exsisting
structure
and some
great
terrain in
the woods.
There were
several good
forts set up
in the woods
but I would
like to have
seen a few
more, maybe
some on the
uphill side
where we
were. The
funniest
thing I have
seen in a
game in a
while was
one of the
blue guys
trying to
hide behind
a air bunker
that had
become
unstaked and
was starting
to deflate
as it rolled
down the
hill,
propelled by
more than a
few shooters
from my
side. This
guy ended up
on his belly
with his
butt
sticking up
above the
flat beercan.
Billy put on
a good game,
plenty of
missions,
maybe too
many for the
number of
players we
had, several
times I sent
out one or
two guys
hoping that
the other
side wasn't
even going
to try to
run the
mission.
There was a
pretty big
stumble at
the start of
the final
battle but
once we got
it going it
was a blast.
About thirty
guys in a
chicken coop
just wailing
away on each
other. My
guys had a
blast and I
think most
everybody
else did
too, execpt
for the part
where Billy
dressed up
like a
stripper and
got shoved
in a crate,
I swear I
didn't order
that kind of
treatment
Billy.
Another good
thing about
the low
turnout was
that nobody
got stiffed
when it came
time for the
prize
drawings,
everybody
walked away
with
something
and my
youngest
player, he
was 12 and
playing for
the first
time, won a
full set-up
including a
WGP Trilogy,
that made
his day. He
should be
able to tote
that around
alot easier
than the 98
flatline he
was
borrowing.
It was kinda
funny seeing
a four foot
kid carrying
a three and
a half foot
tippy.
Thanks agian
to everyone
that turned
out and to
Billy,
Georgia and
his staff
for a great
day of
paintball.
Nolan, the
field owner,
was great,
he tried his
best to make
sure
everyone was
having fun,
and even
stood in a
reffed when
his refs
need to take
a break. I
am glad I
went and
hope that
the next
time we go
back to see
a lot more
players and
an even
better
field.
