5th Annual Christian Crusades
The Conquest of the Promised Land Late Bronze Age 1403-1380 B.C.
Joshua 1-12 In ancient times, following the Israelites exodus from Egypt and years of wondering around the wilderness, the Bible tells us of how God gave authority to a new leader who arose to lead the chosen people into the promise lands. After the death of great leader Moses, a young man by the name of Joshua, by virtue of his previous appointment as Moses' successor, received from God the command to cross the River Jordan and go forth to claim the land vowed to the Israelites. Promised first to Abraham (Genesis 15:18-21) and then renewed to his descendents (Genesis 28:13,) Joshua was merely the tool chosen by God to complete His outstanding promise, to command God’s army and conquer the land that is rightfully the Israelites’ by Devine gift. Now with the task before you, go forth and obey God’s commandment with only the numerous tribes and kingdoms that inhibit Canaan to stand in your way.
